I knew as soon as Jake & Caitlin started walking towards me in downtown Bloomington, IL last Saturday morning, it was going to be a good day. After our hellos and how-are-you’s, we began to work it with the camera. <3
We met at the intersection of Jefferson and Center downtown and enjoyed the morning light. The McClean County Museum of History made for a beautiful stately backdrop for Jake & Caitlin. While they currently live up north while Jake finishes graduate school (GO Jake!!) they both grew up in Central Illinois where they will be getting married this upcoming October.
Across the street from the museum was this glorious building with a huge arch of a entryway that allow the sun to reflect off of the cement and back up into this little vestibule. The lighting that it created was stunning–almost as beautiful as J&C.
One of my favorite shots. From Caitlin’s nail color, to this amazing diamond ring and of course, Jake’s watch! These details naturally play beautifully together.
Caitlin threw a jacket on for a quick outfit change, and I swiped out lenses for my 105mm.
EVERY TIME I look at this picture below, I smile. I literally cannot help myself. The love is so REAL and tangible between these two.
We drove over to Miller Park for the second part of our session. Did I mention what a blessing it was shooting in 60 degree weather in February?! The sun, the barren trees, the blue sky and lake was a dreamy combination.
I’m thrilled to present the rest of these photos to Jake & Caitlin and cannot wait for their wedding day! Working with you two is an honor! <3
